As a trainer, my primary goal is to help people to not only achieve their physical goals, but achieve better emotional, mental, and spiritual health as well. I am currently 25 years old, graduated from Fulton high school in 2015 and Western Illinois university in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Business Management. During my years training at Anytime Fitness, I was certified as a trainer and began my personal training career there. Since that time, I have shifted my focus toward more class training (because I LOVE IT!). I started KT3 in 2016 with my best friend Tanner who is currently serving in the Navy, and has been since 2017 - making myself (and God) the sole owners of the gym. I have a passion for fitness and ministry, through this platform I have the opportunity to meet people, build relationships, and walk alongside each person as they venture through their fitness journey. I love meeting for coffee and getting to know people better, along with reaching out to the community and benefiting those who may never step foot in our doors. God has been so faithful and the testimony of KT3 is an amazing display of God's love and faithfulness. I'd love to share it with you over some coffee if you would like to know more!

MADISON STURTZ

Being healthy is a lifestyle that includes the whole person's mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical. Hello, my name is Madison Sturtz and I am a manager of our Port Byron location! My passion for overall health launched when I was just four years old starting gymnastics. It has continually grown into a lifestyle after eleven years! KT3 was established on helping the whole person and as a team, we LOVE people and LOVE developing relationships. The facility gradually grows as there have been multiple pieces of equipment added to both locations simply accommodating the needs of the community. Events (fundraisers) outreaches and competitions are placed yearly for the community to be involved and make a difference. KT3 has become a place where people from all walks of life are welcomed and loved. We hope to change the world by loving and serving people! 

Sondra Briese, trainer

I am a Certified Holistic Health & Wellness Coach. I pursued my education through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) to further expand my knowledge of food and nutrition.  I wanted to understand not only what food does to our entire body but also how the environment around us impacts our bodies as well.  I wasn’t expecting everything this program actually gave me. It isn't just about nutrition. It is about our whole body, mind, and spirit.

 

This literally changed my life at a time that I needed it and didn’t even realize. I became passionate about health, complete health. IIN provided me a well-rounded education program that covered over 100 dietary theories, however, the most important lesson I learned is that a one-size fit all approach really doesn’t work when it comes to health and wellness and physical fitness. What works for one person could potentially be harmful to another. As a health coach and personal trainer, my focus is on guiding each client in making the best decisions to lead them to a path of health and wellness.

I fell in love with fitness and sports when I went to my first basketball game at 3 weeks old. I grew up in the gym or on the diamond. I graduated college from Arkansas Tech University with a degree in K-12 Health and PE. I began coaching and teaching while getting my Masters in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Kinesiology in 2013. In 2014 I joined the Arkansas National Guard. I moved to Iowa in 2018 and began teaching 7th grade English and coaching basketball and track at Fulton Middle School. I switched to the Army Reserves and am currently a Company Commander out of Canton, IL. Joining the KT3 staff as a substitute coach has been one of the most uplifting and rewarding decisions I have ever done. 

Mike Stephenitch, trainer

My love for exercise started at a young age. I have always been involved in sports. My interest in lifting weights and nutrition began when I realized my collegiate basketball career was coming to an end after my Sophomore year of college. Much like the basketball court, the gym became my new escape from the day-to-day grind that consumes us. I met Kyle back when he was running the boot camp ministry at Clinton Church of Christ. I was intrigued by his desire to help others through fitness. This is a big part of why I now share that same interest. At that time, I worked as a manager of a nutrition store, which is what I can contribute the vast majority of my knowledge in nutrition/supplementation. I was in this position while completing my Bachelor’s Degree in Sports and Recreation Management from Ashford University. My main focus at KT3 is to help the individuals I train safely and successfully build their desired physique, so they will feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin.

I am thrilled to be a part of the KT3 family. I fell in love with fitness at a young age through the love of sports. I played all through high school. While in college I became a certified personal trainer. I graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelors's Degree in Psychology in 2012. A year later God blessed me with an amazing husband and not too long after we were blessed with 3 incredibly fun and crazy kids. I gained a ton of weight with my back-to-back pregnancies, so I have been every size…except tall. For a time, I used my kids as a reason why  I was not prioritizing my health and fitness. But, I soon realized my thinking needed to be flipped. I need and want to prioritize my health and fitness for my kids. My long-term goal is to be able to really play and keep up with my future grandkids, Lord willing. As I continue on this journey to become healthier and stronger in mind, body, and spirit, my passion to help others along their journeys has increased greatly. What I love about fitness is that there is not one cookie-cutter program that works for everyone, so don’t give up hope if you haven’t found what works for you. It will be our joy in helping you find what does.

I fell in love with fitness as an adult. After I had my son I realized I needed a change in the way I moved or lack there of moved my body and what I fueled it with. I have spent 15 years growing my knowledge in the fitness industry through my love of cooking and transforming recipes to healthier ones and exploring different ways to workout. I have a passion for fitness and creating new and fun ways to exercise. I love heavy weights, yoga and running. I want to share my passion for fitness and health with others.

My name is Chris Radke and I lead a 5AM & 6AM class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  I have been married for over 15 years to my wonderful wife, Courtney and we have 5 uniquely created little humans.  My day job is pastoring the youth and children at Church of the Open Door.

I have a passion to help people challenge themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually.  KT3 has allowed me to push myself harder than I thought I could.  It has also given me the opportunity to connect with others along the way.  I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us!

Heather johnson

Structured sports and dance have always been a big part of my life, but in high school I found
myself drawn to training for performance and overall fitness. During college I began personal
training and teaching fitness classes ranging from boot camp to cycling to hip-hop... and
everything in-between! Not only did I LOVE “doing,” I realized a passion for understanding how
and why the body responds to training and helping others apply this information to their lives.
This led to a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology (Illinois State University) and a PhD in Health and
Sports Science (University of Iowa). I eventually accepted a position as a Professor of Exercise
Science, while continuing to train and teach fitness classes on a part-time basis.
Throughout my 25+ years in the field, I have been blessed with the opportunity to teach
amazing students and conduct health and performance research. As a Certified Trainer and
Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS), I have enjoyed working with clients and
athletes at all competitive levels. It is my most important role as a mom to an amazing,
exhausting energetic 5-year-old boy that has underscored my passion for overall wellness and
training-longevity; and for helping others reach their health and fitness goals in a realistic and
sustainable way – for LIFE. Whether it be motivating working-parents through an early morning
class; helping someone safely optimize training for specific goals; or walking alongside a client
beginning their fitness journey, it is a privilege and joy!
I am so excited to be welcomed into the KT3 family – not only do their faith, values and
whole-client philosophy reflect my own, I am grateful to be part of an awesome team that truly
cares about people!

Katie Hester

Hi there! My name is Katie Hester! I graduated from Erie High School in 2010. I am married and have three kids. I fell in love with fitness after having my third baby! I found it was a great way to release stress and to feel good about myself! I started working out in my basement and when KT3 opened I immediately had to check it out! KT3 surpassed my expectations of a gym! I love the positive attitudes, and the friendships that came from this gym.
